"Zlatan is 34, Marcus is 18. If you add 34 and 18 and divide by two that is the perfect age for a football player," Mourinho said
Jose Mourinho believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford can form an 'amazing' strike partnership at Manchester United next season.
The Special One signed Ibrahimovic, 34, following the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Mourinho, who was presented to the media earlier today following his appointment as manager at Old Trafford, has previously worked with the Swede at Inter Milan.
Ibrahimovic arrives looking to add the Premier League crown to titles won in the Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy.
Rashford, 18, broke into United's first team last season and was rewarded for his incredible rise to prominence with a place in the England squad for Euro 2016.
On their potential partnership, Mourinho told MUTV: "Zlatan is 34, Marcus is 18. If you add 34 and 18 and divide by two that is the perfect age for a football player.
"Eighteen is not perfect, 34 is not, but they can be an amazing complement for each other with their qualities."
Mourinho spoke of his excitement to manage Ibrahimovic again, calling their reunion 'a beautiful thing'.
He added: "Zlatan is Zlatan. He wins year after year and his goal record is absolutely amazing. His passion is incredible.
"A man at his age and CV at this stage to make the decision to face his biggest challenge - he is an amazing player.
"This is the biggest club he has played for and the most difficult competition he has played in.
"It's a beautiful thing when you coach a player and a few years later you have him again. It means that the relationship was fantastic both personally and professionally.
"We're back together and I'm so happy because I know what he can bring."
