A TV segment on a show in Mexico went terribly wild - when a lion went for a young baby during a live broadcast.
The disturbing incident unfolded on women’s show Con Sello de Mujer.
The clip begins with a toddler sat with her mum while a juvenile lion is accompanied by two trainers.
But when the young girl starts to whinge slightly, the high pitched noise seems to set off something primal in the animal and it lunges at the terrified toddler.
Understandably, the girl then begins to scream uncontrollably sending the lion into full attack mode.
The mother instinctively stands up and tries to prize her daughter away from the lethal predator.
But this only seems to aggravate the lion further, with the two trainers also trying to pry the animal off whilst keeping everyone else calm.
They can be heard saying in Spanish: "“Relax, relax, relax. Don’t move, don’t move.”
Luckily, perhaps due to the animal's still relatively small size, the pair eventually pull the animal off and begin to lead it off stage.
Bizarrely the mother is then seen to be laughing, although some viewers have suggested that this may be a shock reaction.
Hopefully the little girl will be too young to remember the terrifying ordeal.
