Stoke City are the latest side to show an interest in FC Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula, who appears destined for a move away from Portugal during the transfer window.
Despite interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea during the summer, Imbula moved to Porto during the summer when he left Olympique de Marseille.
Imbula was the midfield dynamo in Marcelo Biela’s impressive OM side that almost secured a return to the Champions League last season, but was one of many departees during the summer as the likes of Andre Ayew, Dimitri Payet and Andre-Pierre Gignac all left the club.
However, the midfield dynamo has struggled to assert himself in the Primeira League, and after only seven league starts for his new club, he looks set for a move away.
Southampton have been linked with a move for the player, but the latest side to register interest in the player are Stoke [Stoke Sentinel], who have been looking for a defensive midfielder to fill the void left by Steven Nzonzi ever since the Franco-Congolese player left for Sevilla during the summer.
