Chile's Copa America victory clearly took a toll on Alexis Sanchez's ankle.
The Arsenal forward posted pictures on social media on Monday showing a very swollen left ankle propped up on a pillow in bed. In one picture, he's also wearing an ankle brace.
Sanchez won the Golden Ball as the best player of the tournament after Chile beat Argentina on penalties in Sunday's final for the country's second straight Copa America title.
He finished the tournament with three goals and two assists but was taken off in extra time of the final -- highly unusual for a player who usually wants to play every minute of key games.
Sanchez did not give any information about whether his ankle was seriously injured, but wrote: "It was worth it!!! Very happy."
The injury will likely be a concern for Arsenal, although the Gunners' first preseason game is still more than a month away as they play the MLS All-Stars in San Jose, California, on July 28.
