Peter Odemwingie to join Marseille on loan

The French club made their offer late on Sunday night and the deal is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
The 34-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Stoke following the summer arrivals of Xherdan Shaqiri and Ibrahim Afellay and has made just seven appearances this season.
If the move goes through, Odemwingie will become the second winger to join Marseille this week on loan from the Premier League this week, following the capture of Florian Thauvin from Newcastle.

Odemwingie, who has six months left on his contract at the Britannia Stadium with an option of another year, is no stranger to transfer deadline day drama having been involved in the most famous deal that never happened in 2013.
The then-West Brom forward famously drove the 120 miles from Birmingham to London in an attempt to speed up a late move to Queens Park Rangers only for Harry Redknapp to have a late change of heart and admit "wires got crossed".
Marseille's Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi is a target for Stoke
The clubs have also held talks regarding Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi moving in the opposite direction, with Stoke submitting a formal offer for the Belgian, according toL'Équipe.
Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle have also been in touch again with Marseille in recent hours for Batshuayi, but they remain resolute with their non-selling position.
